[?] How do you prepare a serigraphic paste?
There are three methods according to the chosen thickening agent. Mts 010 should be added solid to the Metcolour stirred energetically and stirred as long as possible (in any case at least 30’) Mts 350, Mts 480, Mts 700 should be dispersed in Metfluid A in a 1:2 ratio. The paste is to be added to the energetically stirred Metcolour and stirred as long as possible (in any case at least 30’). The stability of the viscosity is connected to the stirring time and energy.

[?] What thickening agents should be used for flat bed and rotary screen printing?
Mts 350, Mts 480, MTS 700.

[?] What thickening agents are recommended for application on silicone rollers?
Mts 350, 700 are preferred because they do not change the colours, for the production of polished products the pastes called Metcoroll are available.

[?] Are the colours of the colour scheme compatible?
Not all of them, please see the compatibility table. If you need mixtures different from them it is recommended to ask Metco technicians about compatibility.

[?] How much do the Metcolour penetrate?

The degree of penetration depends on the characteristics of the body, on the application conditions, on the temperature and on the type and quantity of Metcolour and Metasorb used.
To have even penetrations exceeding 1 mm, at least 60g/sq. mt. of colour has to be applied which should be assisted by spraying at least 250g/ sq. mt. of Metasorb.
As written above, the penetration strongly depends on the body, The Metco Laboratory is in any case available to study how to obtain the required penetration on any type of body.

[?] How much penetrating agent (Metasorb) should be sprayed?
250-400g/sq.mt according to the required degree of penetration. By spraying greater quantities of Metasorb, the degree of penetration is increased but it may lead to a reduction of the evenness of the colour.

[?] To obtain a natural look, is a spray treatment necessary ?
It is not essential, in order to guarantee the control in surface abrasion, a simple dilution of the product is recommended with Metasorb 505 if the required colour is a light one. A spray treatment of 50 g/sq. mt. may be useful if more intense colours are sought and thus you do not want to reduce the volume of colour applied in the machine.

[?]What bodies can be impregnated with the Metcolour?
The Metcolour designed for porcelain tiles can be applied to glazed surfaces or to extruded materials; the most suitable application systems and colouring agents must be studied case by case.
